*Summary*

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking an Internal Auditor for its Monroeville, PA location, which is located just a few miles from Pittsburgh. You will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule, performing your work at BPMI's Monroeville, PA office, and telework on an as-needed basis, depending on personal and business needs.

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is a project engineering organization supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. BPMI provides designs, manufacturing, supply chain management, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers. In addition, BPMI provides upgraded replacement components in support of refueling and overhaul activities, and aids in the ultimate storage and disposition of spent naval fuel. BPMI also delivers information technology and operational solutions to the Nuclear Navy, enabling them to fulfill their critical mission.

The Internal Auditor plans and conducts internal audits on BPMI business functions to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, applicable government regulations, and disclosed accounting practices. This person will perform risk assessments, develop audit plans, execute audits, and report on results. This person should be comfortable making decisions, working independently, and communicating with senior management and executives.

*Essential Duties:*

  • Performs all aspects of Internal Audit with limited oversight.
  • Conducts internal audits on routine to moderately complex BPMI financial functions to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, applicable government regulations, and disclosed accounting practices.
  • Performs risk assessment and develops audit plans. Presents to Senior Management and other applicable stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), other external audit agencies, and internal stakeholders to support audits of BPMI by obtaining information, coordinating requests, scheduling meetings, and resolving outstanding items with limited oversight.
  • Prepares audit reports and maintains records of audit findings with limited oversight.
  • Prepares reports for the Audit Committee, Board of Director's, and other stakeholders as needed with limited oversight.
  • Stays abreast of current Internal Auditing and Governmental accounting standards and industry issues.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned providing expertise in the area of compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

*Minimum Job Requirements:*

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or equivalent, or MBA, from an accredited college or university.
  • 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires a security clearance, however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
  • Requires US Citizenship due to security clearance requirements.

*Preferred Job Requirements:*

  • Previous experience working in internal audit or public accounting or prior experience working with Government Contr cts.
  • Applicable certification such as: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Familiarity with US government regulations including FAR and DFARS
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment by multi-tasking while still providing significant attention to detail.
