Eaton Corporation Continuous Improvement Engineer in Nacogdoches, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. This role is based out of our Nacogdoches, TX location.

The purpose of this critical role within the organization is to support and drive Business Unit performance improvements using CI tools and encourage the Continuous Improvement culture. Your key focus will be to support and ultimately lead Level 3 Rapid Improvement Events as well as enabling the sustainment and implementation of future state improvements coming out of these events. CI site focus will be on the development, expansion and sustainment of Lean Tool Leaders and Experts across 5S+ and Value Stream Mapping as well as Problem Solving Kaizen.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Be the Capital Coordinator for the site

  • Perform all product routings

  • Complete cost out project validations

  • Develop and maintain operational standard reporting and analysis to support engineering cost out efforts

  • Develop and maintain customer service scorecards

  • Manage special projects as assigned including VSM, RIE, and other metric tracking reports

  • Support RIE events as assigned

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing and/or operations environment.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the use of problem-solving tools

  • Production data analyst experience

  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, charts, and graphs

  • Prior experience utilizing SAP

Skills:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc

  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills with proven ability to lead change through both direct and indirect (influencing) abilities

  • Can effectively and comfortably speak to different levels of the organization; senior leaders to the factory floor

  • Understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e. thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R & R, control charts, Pareto charts, etc.

  • Proficiency in Office 365

  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc).

  • Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts and tools as they relate to minimizing process / product variability – i.e. regression analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.

  • Knowledge of ELSS and CIF

  • Coaching, mentor, learner, teacher

  • Excellent communication skills
