WR Systems Soldering Technician in Norfolk, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Travel Requirements : None

Location: Norfolk, VA

SUMMARY : WR has a potential opportunity for a Soldering Technician to conduct miniature/micro-miniature soldering in the removal and installation of electronic components on printed circuit boards IAW IPC J-STD-001 Standards.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Demonstrate s a high-quality of miniature/micro-miniature soldering skills.

· Exhibit well-versed component identification ability using qualification/acceptance testing of electronic equipment utilizing automated test equipment and rack systems.

· Responsible for work product from successful introduction into the repair cycle through its quality control and designated as Ready for Issue.

· Set up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and live tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent .

· US Navy Miniature/Micro-Miniature Certified (NEC 1591, 9526, 9527 ) and/or IPC J-STD-001 Certified Module 1-5.

· Five (5)+ years of progressive experience performing work in support of production, integration, installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic systems or equipment.

· Two (2)+ years of progressive experience as a technician performing work, which required advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems, a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, 2M repair, and exercising independent judgment in performing tasks.

· One (1)+ year of experience providing technical guidance to lower level technicians performing work in support of installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic systems or equipment.

· Preferred:

o Completion of U.S. Navy Electronic Technician or equivalent “A” school and “C”

o Solder Certification level courses: IPC-A-610, and IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-600
