The AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team shapes the digital transformation necessary for our treatments to positively impact patients’ lives. In the role of Business Systems Lead you’ll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

The Senior Analyst, Business Systems will work closely with business partners from the Clinical Development Operations organization to understand and document the requirements of our technology solutions. This involves conducting interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit essential information. This role will analyze these requirements to identify gaps, define project objectives, and work with solution architects to propose solutions that align with business goals. The Business Systems Analyst will ensure that the requirements are clear, complete, and feasible, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. They will also contribute knowledge to the design, development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical or business knowledge to system projects. The position will be instrumental in the development, identification and implementation of system modifications that will improve productivity within the solution(s).

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Learning and understanding the business processes enabled by Clinical Development Operations technology solutions.

  • Responding to questions and consultation with business users regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs.

  • Conducting research and analysis into the nature, effect, and results of system issues and proper resolution.

  • Developing detailed business user requirements, functional requirements, user stories, system documentation, workflow procedures, and modeling of data.

  • Driving alignment between business and technology team on plans, requirements, sprint schedules, trade-offs, and show cases while ensuring all understand the scope and goals of the project.

  • Consulting with functional areas to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs supported by the system.

  • Determining how changing business needs will affect the systems.

  • Understanding the role of the systems in the big picture and providing ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the systems.

  • Creating and Managing system change requests and documentation supporting implementations.

  • Assisting with developing and delivering communicating system changes and issues to all levels of management.

  • Ensuring current and accurate system documentation, coordinates and or ensures testing of system modifications for both validated and non-validated systems.

  • Providing systems expertise and supporting system training, educational tools, and materials.

  • Appling analytical thinking skills to diagnose and make recommendations on systems.

  • Working collaboratively and effectively with both technical and business team members.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years technical experience, or Master's degree plus 4 years experience

  • Proven experience in the documentation, implementation, configuration, and operations of custom and purchased technology solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with customers and technical team members.

  • Must be deliverable focused and detail oriented.

  • Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills.

  • Must have a strong customer focus.
