Job Description

The Senior BHR Specialist, will work closely with the Supply Chain/AEI/Global Security HR Team to support our strategic priorities to advance leadership excellence, enable future business performance and drive ONE Operations by elevating our culture as committed to in our functional HR LRP. The role will support the design and implementation of HR practices that position AbbVie as an employer of choice, with a focus on the AbbVie Endocrinology Inc. (AEI) business within Supply Chain Operations. AEI is a full complement site, with 700 employees and 300 contractors on average. In addition, the Senior BHR Specialist will be accountable for direct BHR support to a post-sale services and technical support team located in Pleasanton California (40) as part of the broader AEI business model.

Lastly, the role will provide part time support to BHR leads for global supply chain and global security teams. It will require 15% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Build future-fit capability within customer service call center, partnering with Employee Relations, Talent Development and Organizational Design Centers of Excellence (CoEs).

  • Develop HR strategies and solutions in collaboration with the BHR Lead, prioritizing projects based on business needs. For example, AEI is actively working on an outsourcing model for our AbbVie Access Support Insurance Agents I and II in Costa Rica. If the pilot is successful, we will be hiring, on-boarding and training 25 incremental agents a quarter and may need Sr. BHR Specialist support.

  • Ensure effective delivery of HR programs and services, maintaining client satisfaction and financial results.

  • Foster relationships with HR partners from all Centers of Excellence (CoE) to ensure coordinated HR service delivery.

  • Manage human and financial resources within the scope of delivered services.

  • Understand business needs, challenges and success factors, making informed HR decisions and actions.

  • Identify trends and new approaches to business processes, linking them with other organizational efforts.

  • Assist in development and delivery of HR strategies, programs and services that influence business needs.

  • Ensure compliance with Corporate and Functional Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with foundational HR knowledge.

  • Proven experience in collaborating on complex HR projects in the matrix and influencing outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and relationships with leadership team and employees.

  • Ability to think creatively to drive impact within assigned areas.

  • Knowledge of HR integration, organizational design, employee relations, talent management, performance management processes/principles preferred.

  • Understanding the potential impact of decisions across respective business units and larger organization/function preferred.
