Additional Information

Horticulture Degree or extensive (5-10+ years) horticulture work experience preferred.

Parks Tech I : Parks Technician I Revised Job Description.pdf; SALARY RANGE: $33.384.00 - $44,220.80 annually, depending on experience.

Required Education, Experience, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High School Diploma/equivalent.

  • Previous maintenance or grounds keeping experience preferred.

  • Must have the following certifications, or obtain within two (2) years from date of hire:

  • State Pesticide certification.

  • Confined Space certification.

    Parks Tech II : Parks Technician II Revised Job Description 2021.docx; SALARY RANGE: $37,668.80 - $50,835.20 annually, depending on experience.

    Required Education, Experience, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in park maintenance, landscape maintenance or related field.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s license prior to completion of probation.

  • Must have or be able to obtain the following certifications prior to completion of probation:

  • TN Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification, Category 03.

  • Confined Space certification.

  • The Certified Playground Safety Inspector certification preferred.

    Parks Tech III: Parks Technician III.docx; SALARY RANGE: $41,080.00 - $55,432.00 annually, depending on experience.

Required Education, Experience, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance/construction; or Associates degree in Recreation, Horticulture or related field and three (3) year’s related experience.

  • Must have Commercial Driver’s license.

  • Must have the following certifications:

  • State Pesticide certification.

  • Confined Space certification.

  • And one of the following:

  • Playground Safety Inspector Certification.

  • Certified in irrigation installation, renovations and repairs.

    Demonstrated skills in tree climbing and rigging; certification preferred
