USG Corporation Powerhouse Operator - Oakfield in Oakfield, New York
Job Description:
Ability to be trained and follow procedures in all areas of powerhouse department including:
- Operate boiler and work with steam
- Operate turbine and work with high voltage electricity
- Operate gas compressor and work with high pressure natural gas
- Monitor and operate fire protection system including fire pump
- Monitor multiple water supplies and make adjustments as needed
- Operate plant water softening systems
- Operate plant wastewater treatment plant
Qualifications:
- To work safely
- Basic math and computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to do water test
- Attention to detail with ability to react quickly and safely in emergency situations
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Monitor several data system within the area
- Person will be required to be trained in CPR/ first aid / AED/ BBP
- Will be required to make frequent rounds of entire plant in all weather conditions
- Will need to have basic mechanical abilities
- Will be required to work in confined spaces /EOE including disability/veteran/
