Description

Inhouse Legal Team is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Oakland, California. This role will primarily involve coordination, analysis, and assistance in dealing with claims arising at different locations, as well as handling legal research, document reviews, and case strategy development. This is a role that offers an exciting opportunity for those with skills in Employment Law, Labor Law, e-Discovery, Litigation Support, Document Production, SharePoint, Document Review, and Civil Litigation Experience.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, analyze and assist in responding to claims at our locations, including developing case strategy.

• Conduct legal research of federal and state law, and administrative caselaw.

• Perform document reviews to aid in responding to subpoenas, discovery requests and requests.

• Review documents for applicable privileges and process documents utilizing key-term (Boolean) searches.

• Produce electronically stored information (“ESI”) and paper documents utilizing eDiscovery software platforms.

• Draft templates including legal arguments responsive to claims made by Unions as well as first versions of position statements for counsel review.

• Provide case summaries, research memoranda, and analyses to clients and attorneys.

• Administer internal site (SharePoint) for Labor & Employment specific resources.

• Monitor the Public Employment Relations Board website and provide updates to counsel.

Requirements • Proficiency in Employment Law and Labor Law

• Experience with e-Discovery process

• Ability to provide Litigation Support

• Skilled in Document Production and Review

• Familiarity with SharePoint for collaboration and document management

• Prior Civil Litigation Experience

• Paralegal certification or relevant experience in a similar role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of discretion and confidentiality handling sensitive information

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel

• Familiarity with legal research tools and software.
