Allied Mechanical VTL CNC Machinists - Day and Swing Shift Available in Ontario, California

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, machines parts/stock on various Vertical Turret lathes. Loads parts/stock onto machine and ensures the correct set-up to run program and ensure safety. Monitors machines to ensure optimum performance. Makes manual corrections as required to meet production times and ensure compliance to specifications. May alter speed and feed rates. Checks parts to verify specifications such as tolerance, dimensions, etc. are met. Safely unloads completed parts and prepares them for internal transport. Completes necessary paperwork for quality/traceability. May train others.

Both shifts available! Swing shift starts at 4:30 p.m. and pays a 10% differential on all wages.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years' experience as a CNC Vertical Lathe machinist with prior set-up experience Experience with larger parts preferred Experience with Fanuc controllers required Experience working in metal manufacturing required; experience with larger parts desired. Must be able to work overtime regularly and weekends as needed. Experience working in a job shop environment highly preferred Must be able to use precision measuring equipment to achieve tight tolerances Must have a strong understanding of modern tooling technologies Must be able to communicate effectively and understand technical instructions Ability to read and interpret information from prints, customer orders, routings and other internal documentation in hard copy or electronic formats Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines Must be flexible and adaptable with regard to changing priorities and assignments Must be highly organized and detail oriented with a dedication to quality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability work in a machine shop environment with loud noises (under 80db), stand for prolonged periods of time, lift/torque up to 50 lbs.,ability to climb in or on large machined parts and/or over or on large CNC machines. Must be able to climb steps and possibly ladders. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
