USG Corporation Maintenance Mechanic - Otsego in Otsego, Michigan

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform the following:

  1. Perform minor preventative maintenance work under direct supervision.

  2. Assist maintenance personnel on routine repairs in a training capacity exhibiting potential for advancement.

  3. Knowledge of basic maintenance terminology and familiarization with plant operation and major equipment.

  4. Perform routine mobile equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.

  5. Must be capable of operating basic machine shop equipment including surface grinders, stationary drill press, band saw, and pipe threader. Welding experience a plus.

  6. Must adhere to all procedures per USG preventative maintenance program.

  7. Understand and adhere to all department and general plant safety rules.

  8. Meets Essential Physical Requirements of the Position. Must regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs. Regularly climb stairs/ladders/scaffolding and work at heights. Walk/stand/work on feet for extended periods of time. Work in hot/humid environments.

  9. Demonstrates the ability to work with other team members as well as perform tasks independently.

  10. Possess basic required hand tools.

  11. High degree of mechanical aptitude, learning capacity, and self-motivation.

  12. A minimum of a high school degree and two years of experience in industrial maintenance.

  13. Preferred: Trade school, technical or associate degree in industrial technology with emphasis in industrial maintenance and two or more years of experience in industrial maintenance.
