Foundry Manager:

Overview:

My client is a leading provider of precision components and machining solutions, serving various industries with excellence and innovation. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Foundry Manager to oversee our foundry operations in Peoria, Illinois Metro area. The Foundry Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our foundry, driving productivity, quality, and safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:

  2. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of foundry personnel, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.

  3. Set clear goals and expectations for the foundry team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  4. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.

  5. Operational Oversight:

  6. Oversee all aspects of foundry operations, including melting, molding, pouring, and finishing processes.

  7. Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.

  8. Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

  9. Quality Assurance:

  10. Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality castings.

  11. Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address any quality issues or non-conformities promptly.

  12. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and consistency.

  13. Safety and Compliance:

  14. Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring that all foundry operations comply with relevant safety regulations and best practices.

  15. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards or safety concerns proactively.

  16. Collaborate with the EH&S department to develop and implement safety training programs for foundry personnel.

  17. Resource Management:

  18. Manage the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and efficiency.

  19. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies.

  20. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization to improve operational profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in foundry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of foundry processes, including melting, molding, coremaking, and casting.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and achieving operational excellence.

  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Details: $120,000.00 per year
