CNC Machinist

Shifts and schedules –

• 2nd shift - 2PM - 10PM

• 3rd shift - 10PM-6AM Sunday-Thursday (3 openings)

• Overtime – they are working overtime right now, on Friday morning

Training-

• Training is on 1st shift - 6AM-2PM

• Training is anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the candidates prior skills and development.

Pay-

• $20-27 an hour

• 2nd shift - $3 shift diff

• 3rd shift - $1 shift diff

Must Haves –

• Machine set up experience (doesn’t have to be CNC)

• Ability to read +/- 0.003” on manual calipers and gauges

• Ability to read and understand blueprints (not very complex)

Nice to Haves –

• Program edits

• Education in machining (open to candidates straight from trade school in machining)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Machinists will be running one machine on shift – they have mostly Okuma mills and lathes with Fanuc controls (most machines are new). They will be responsible for uploading the program into the machine, and following the programs directions on set ups (set ups usually take an hour). The lot sizes are small, usually a handful of parts. They are also responsible for tool changes, offsets, quality checks (+/- 0.003”). They will be machining cast iron pumps, or steel shafts and tubing.
