Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant in POTTSVILLE, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting duties including the posting of journal, accounts payable and receivable transactions, and the reconciliation of general ledger and bank accounts. You will also assist in the preparation of monthly work papers and other account analysis and play a crucial role in the monthly financial close process.

Responsibilities:

• Posting journal, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions and classifying and coding transactions to appropriate accounts.

• Reconciling general ledger and bank accounts on a routine basis and adjusting any discrepancies.

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly work papers and providing other account analysis.

• Assisting with the monthly financial close process, including the monthly consolidation process to produce US GAAP compliant financial statements for US and Foreign Operations.

• Assisting with the distribution of the Monthly Financial Reporting Package and other reports or analysis generated by the department.

• Assisting with internal/external auditor information requests.

• Creating reports as requested and providing statistical and financial analysis on the data so key staff can make strategic conclusions.

• Organizing, managing, and tracking multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

• Performing other special projects and analyses as directed by management.

Requirements

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role

• Proficiency in Sage 100 and MS Great Plains Accounting

• Solid understanding of budget management

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures

• Strong experience in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages

• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
