Fiber Splicing Supervisor

Description

  • Manage/Supervise and schedule multiple crews/employees.

  • Reports weekly profit and loss information to the manager.

  • Responsible for recruiting, including interviewing and hiring.

  • Responsible for employee relations, including training, performance reviews, coaching, overall disciplinary issues and terminations.

  • Meets construction work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.

  • Meets construction budget by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions.

  • Plans construction projects by studying blueprints; scheduling materials and equipment.

  • Monitors construction projects by confirming instructions for crews; conducting inspections; approving work.

  • Approves Fiber Splicing work by conducting inspections.

  • Works directly with the customer and communicates progress, costs, and other project information.

  • Performs site walk through and recommends pacing for bids.

  • Responsible for the condition of the equipment that is assigned to employees.

  • Will have the skills to Fiber splice, read prints, trouble shoot and use of OTDR

  • Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Complete all reports as required.

  • Perform vehicle inspections.

  • Deal with complaints and customer service-related issues.

  • Perform quality control checks of completed projects.

  • Perform and attend meetings with employees and customers.

  • Ensure all paperwork for assigned employees are completed and returned to the office in a timely manner.

  • Inventory control.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with co-workers & customers in a clear and professional manor.

  • Must be able to follow instructions.

  • Must be able to work with department manager and other supervisors.

  • Must be available for overnight travel and to work various hours on an as needed basis.

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficient use of all safety gear.

  • Must be able to recognize, practice & enforce safety rules & procedures.

  • Must keep assigned vehicle neat.

  • Must have a working knowledge of DOT work zone safety rules.

  • Must be able to accurately estimate Fiber Splicing Projects

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook & various other SW.

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of NESC and local code specifications.

  • Must be able to complete all assigned paperwork in an efficient & timely manner.

  • Perform construction coordination functions with customers and areas assigned.

  • Perform Project Management of assigned projects.

  • Ensure that all company property in use by employees is properly maintained.

  • Will adhere to all company and departmental policies, standards and established procedures.

  • Safety is the responsibility of every employee at TAK WI. All safety procedures or policies outlined in the safety manual, and all regulatory requirements (OSHA, etc.) are expected to be followed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to use basic hand tools.

  • Ability to communicate with customers and employees in a clear and professional manor.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.

  • Knowledge with all aspects of Fiber Splicing and Trouble Shooting.

  • People management, staffing, safety management, informing others, customer service.

  • Ability to read CATV or related blue prints and Fiber schematics.

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a proficient use of a PC and related software.

  • Organization skills and the ability to multi task is required.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Must be proficient on a PC and knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word and various other job-related software.

  • Ability to drive company vehicles, and operate machinery in a safe manner.

  • Ability to meet and perform all safety requirements of the position

  • High School diploma or equivalent
