Senior Strategic Planning Specialist

Job Description

As a Principal Strategic Planning Specialist at Renesas Electronics America Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives to drive the company's growth and competitive positioning in the semiconductor industry.

This role will work closely with the corporate strategy team and key business leaders across various functions to optimize company strategy and assess investment opportunities. Primary responsibilities will include the review of potential M&A opportunities and execution of the transaction process for both acquisitions and divestitures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of potential strategic acquisitions and assess the fit of opportunities relative to Renesas’ internal strategic goals.

  2. Financial Modeling: Utilize financial modeling and forecasting techniques to evaluate business scenarios, assess investment opportunities, and determine the valuations of target companies.

  3. M&A Process Management: Support all aspects of the transaction execution process including due diligence, contract negotiations, and post-close integration planning.

  4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across various functions, including finance, operations, HR, and legal, to align strategic initiatives with business goals and drive execution excellence.

  5. Communication and Presentation: Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, reports, and strategic updates to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress on acquisition and divesture opportunities.

  6. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track personal and professional progress. Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend course corrections as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy/development, investment banking, management consulting, or related roles in corporate transactions.

  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial statements with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Experience developing complex financial models, performing ad hoc analyses, and conducting company valuations using various methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • This is a fully remote position.

Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $118K-$178K. This position is also eligible for STI bonus opportunities and commission pay. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
