    JOB SUMMARY

Ensures that batch workloads run to completion and without error. Arranges these functions in order of importance (most important functions listed first), or in the sequential manner in which the duties are performed. Estimates the average percentage of time spent on each function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree, plus three (3+) years of directly related mainframe production control experience in a similar environment, size and scope, or five (5) years of equivalent and directly related mainframe production control experience in a similar environment, size and scope.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitors and supervises the daily/ Monthly/ quarterly/ yearly operations of batch jobs and batch processes.

  • Schedules, create jobs on the scheduling tool for mainframe systems. Maintains a continuous production level.

  • Apportionments for various County divisions.

  • Schedules and coordinates work flow between departments

  • Processes amended jobs and events to restart/rerun

  • Processes various email requests for on demand jobs for both internal and external departments.

  • Downloads file transfers for credit cards for various County divisions.

  • Coordinates and communicates with team members for batch job related events

  • Resolves problems and works with other teams to ensure 24×7 missions-critical system availability, reliability and performance. Handles moderately complex troubleshooting techniques.

  • Handles the central console or online terminals for processing data. Evaluates and determines course of action to be followed particularly to rectify error conditions.

  • Follows a variety of technical procedures to operate computer systems and peripheral equipment efficiently.

  • Operates mainframe computers and computer-related equipment. Assigns jobs to proper partition for job execution

  • Coordinatoes JCL moves.
