Supervisor, Production Assembly 2nd Shift Monday-Thursday

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite at Sheridan, AR

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday (4 days on 3 days off) 5:00 PM-3:00 AM

Opportunity

This leader is responsible for directing, coordinating, supervising and planning assigned production area. This person should also ensure that all Finishing and Production strategies are consistent with the overall Division objectives and Strategic Deployment, within the boundaries of the Kohler Operating System (KOS). In addition, support all aspects of Kohler Safety Management to achieve goals and objectives with resources necessary to complete at all levels.

The Supervisor is to ensure all areas they manage are implementing and sustaining all initiatives of KSMS safety standards. The individual needs to ensure that their areas of responsibility are operating under the absolute safest working environment for its associates and their activities at all times.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement while operating within the boundaries and expectations of the Kohler Operating System (KOS)

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems within functional area of responsibility.

  • Responsible for directing the activities of 20-40 hourly associates working in the Faucet plant.

  • Coordinates the activities of faucet manufacturing and assembly.

  • Maintain and train an efficient work force in accordance with workload and schedule requirements.Recommends up-grading, transfers, disciplinary action as required.Maintains attendance and vacation records as required which includes administrative work in time keeping system for all direct reports.

  • Frequently checks all department methods and procedures and recommends new and improved methods as deemed necessary to the operations. Checks with various Engineering Groups on new procedures.

  • Responsible for the administration of the company policies in all areas including Human Resources, Safety, and 5S.

  • Initiate any follow-up action related to several reports, including Inspection Rejection reports, Material Usage reports, Corrective Action reports, Safety reports, Operating Variance reports and many misc. reports.

  • Attends various meetings such as Planning, Organizing, Training and Production Scheduling.Prepare special reports and perform a variety of special duties as assigned.

  • Develop and administrate the department budget consistent with the Strategic Deployment Plan of the Faucet Division.

  • Oversee the inspection, continuous improvement and sustainability of the area supervised to ensure safe work practices by associates for associates.

  • Record or report improvement opportunities to EHS when concerns arise.

  • Oversee preventative maintenance procedures to eliminate safety risks in supervised areas.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy goals are achieved.

  • Order production supplies and oversee repair requests as required to eliminate downtime.

  • Conduct and record monthly safety training reviews with associates.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Organizational Management, or a comparable discipline from an accredited university and 6 years related experience OR in lieu of degree 10 years experience

  • Minimum two years in a manufacturing role.

  • Must possess strong understanding of principles of Lean Manufacturing.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

  • Must have demonstrated experience of effectively leading groups and communicating at all levels.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

The salary range for this position is $66,300 - $83,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
