This will be a shared resource with the Accounts Payable team and General Ledger team. Prepares and processes invoices and expense vouchers for payment. Assist accounts payable team with data analysis and process improvement strategies. Support accounting team by preparing timely and accurate month end close journal entries, reconciliations, and audit ready accounting support in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

This position will be filled to work a Hybrid schedule at Jack Henry’s Monett, MO office location or the following office locations will be considered: Allen, TX, Springfield, MO or Shawnee, KS. We have corporate flight shuttles you can take to travel conveniently between Allen / Springfield / Monett and Lenexa.

Depending on where you reside you may be required to come into the office 1 -2 days per week for training, corporate events, team meetings or collaboration sessions. You may have occasional day trip or overnight travel to support business needs. If you are interested in this position, please apply on or before May 3, 2024.

This position will have a salary range of $45-65K based on experience and location.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Records, classifies, and posts details of business transactions in accordance with accounting and auditing policies and procedures. Receives and reviews all types of accounts payable requests, invoices, uploads, payment requests, etc.

  • Prepares journal entries and monthly financial statements. Performs monthly review of P&L reports; may include variance analysis.

  • Performs balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation to the General Ledger.

  • Compiles various analyses for management review on a periodic basis. Works closely with operations

  • managers to develop pertinent reports and/or analysis that will aid them in making managerial decisions about their line of business.

  • Conducts research projects in specific area of Accounting and responds to all inquiries. Performs other special projects as assigned. Maintain or create procedural documentation.

  • Reviews, monitors, and resolves reports pertaining to billing, revenue flow and/or expenditures. Review all invoices for payment and obtain proper approvals from the respective business units.

  • Assist the accounts payable team in preparing and processing all accounts payable in accordance with departmental timelines and procedures.

  • Collaborates with managers to assist in translating their operational requirements into financial statement formatting. Works with managers to explain variances and acts as financial liaison for operations.

  • Respond to inquiries to assists other departments, vendors, and customers in resolving accounting issues - do research, determine the best approach to resolution and communicating results.

What you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred).

  • Minimum of 18 months of experience in any of the following categories: accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury or general ledger accounting.

  • Proficient in MS Excel including advanced excel functions such as vlookup, pivot tables, sumifs.

  • Complete assignments using considerable judgement and initiative.

  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize and manage tasks to completion.

  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

  • Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, work effectively with both employees and management.

  • Able to work with confidential materials and employee information and demonstrates confidentiality at all times.

  • Ability to adapt to change and have an agile mindset.

  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines.

  • You may have up to 5% occasional day trip or overnight travel to support business needs.

  • Must be able to work extended hours as business needs dictate and have the ability to work late evening/overtime hours up to 4 business days a month.
