Navistar, Inc. Engineering Manufacturing Coordinator in Springfield, Ohio

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated self-starter to fill the role as an Engineering Manufacturing Coordinator. This is a hands-on engineering role that works directly with manufacturing to contain and resolve engineering issues on Commercial trucks, components, and assemblies as they are being built in our Springfield Assembly plant. This role works very closely with our engineering and manufacturing associates in identifying root causes to build solutions to issues/difficulties. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, have the ability to troubleshoot automotive or mechanical assemblies, know how to read blueprints, and drive issues to root cause.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Responsibilities

  • Hands on position working on the assembly floor as a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing

  • Investigate manufacturing difficulties caused by engineering practices, including errors in drawings, designs, specification data and manufacturing procedures

  • Isolate and help to identify root cause for issues on the line and develop temporary containments for these issues including substitutions, deviations, and modification of engineering drawings

  • Document these issues for permanent corrective actions

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology

OR

  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
