Are you eager to dive into the world of heavy equipment maintenance and repair? We are looking for a motivated Shop Apprentice to join our team in Springfield, OR. This role will serve as an integral part of our shop and mechanic team, assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities will include ensuring the organization and cleanliness of the shop and yard, receiving, and pulling parts. This position will involve assisting in the cleaning, maintenance, and servicing of various vehicles and heavy equipment, including rock drills, excavators, rock crushers, and haul trucks. Additionally, under the supervision of trained mechanics, this position will assist in minor equipment maintenance and repairs. This position offers a great opportunity for someone who is interested in becoming a mechanic apprentice and learning more about shop operations. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, this position will gain valuable hands-on experience and develop essential skills that can pave the way for a rewarding career in the heavy equipment maintenance and repair field. Hours & Pay: - \$18.00 to \$22.00 per hour, depending on experience. - Potential promotional path with on-the-job training. - Full benefit package - Standard Shift: Monday \' Friday 7:00am \' 4:00pm. - Work Location: Company Headquarters located in Springfield, OR Job Requirements: - Minimum age: 18 years old - Physical requirement to carry up to 75 pounds in a physical environment on a regular basis. - Experience working in a shop/service environment. - Valid Oregon driver\'s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs. - Successful background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restriction. - Pre-employment drug test and physical. For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use. - Positive Attitude and Quick Learner: Positive approach with the ability to learn quickly. - Possesses a mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of equipment and repairs. - Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. - Flexible in adapting to changing demands and circumstances. Job Duties: -Carry, lift, push, and pull loads weighing up to 75 pounds in a physically demanding environment on a regular basis. - Stand, walk, climb, and move for extended periods. - Agile to navigate elevated platforms and confined spaces safely. - The job is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, such as heat, cold and rain. - Safely operate grinder to sharpen dull steel drill bits and reports re-sharpened bits to inventory. - Assist the Safety Coordinator in performing monthly shop inspections and walk-throughs - Assist in conducting regular inventory counts. - Perform parts runs to field locations on occasion. - Perform any other duties as necessary to meet job requirements and support the Product Support team.
