Purpose/Introduction

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as the NGL Production Superintendent at the Sweeny/Old Ocean Facilities. The position manages all operations functions for a 45MM barrel per year natural gas liquids fractionator. The successful candidate will plan, prioritize, coordinate and align the unit's activities to ensure that necessary operating demands in the unit are met. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and ensures safety activities on the unit including safety audits, incident investigations, implementation of PHA/LOPA action items, and establishing overall safety leadership for the unit.

  • Directs and ensures environmental compliance of the unit including proper compliance reporting, investigation of incidents, initiation of environmental improvement projects, and preparation of Title V operating permit compliance reports.

  • Sets strategic direction for the unit, directs prioritization and execution of large and small capital and expense projects, prepares annual budget, oversees coordination of maintenance activities, leads continuous improvement efforts, and executes other plant and company initiatives.

  • Works with Olefins/NGL business management to optimize product portfolios, plan production, and resolve business and customer issues including Joint Venture Partner interactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 15 years of Operations experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness and capability to learn other job-specific computer programs (i.e. SAP).

  • Must have ability to successfully resolve conflict and reach agreement with other functional groups in order to be successful.

  • Strong, demonstrated aptitude toward personal and process safety.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, team and meeting facilitation skills, and organization and program deployment capabilities.

  • Must be customer-focused and results-driven, proficient in problem-solving and analyzing issues, and have the ability to effectively collaborate and work with personnel at various levels throughout the facility and company.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with operations, maintenance, co-workers, and plant management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Petrochemical unit process knowledge.

  • Knowledge of unit integration and feed slate complexity.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and similar regulations and consensus standards governing health, safety, and risk management training.
