Eos Energy Storage, LLC Electrical Technician in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania

Eos Energy manufacturers zinc-based battery energy storage systems in the Turtle Creek facility. These batteries are designed for long duration energy storage for utility, commercial, and renewable scale customers (Solar fields, wind farms, etc). ACCOUNTABLE FOR

The Electrical Technician or 'Container Technicians' are responsible for preparing the batteries for shipment.  This preparation will require the Technician to load the batteries into the energy block, connect the batteries for charging, test, and monitor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspection of the energy block and all components when received to ensure no issues.
  • Perform wiring of system as outlined in diagram
  • Install Battery Management System (BMS) and string boards.
  • Perform initial testing as outlined by the FAT (Factory acceptance testing).
  • Use various hand and power tools correctly and safely to assemble sub-assemblies and products.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, mechanical and electrical blueprints, and bills of materials.
  • Inspect subassemblies and/or assemblies for defects by operating specialized test equipment, measurement devices, and visual checking.  Identify and correct defects appropriately.
  • Verify use of correct materials by inspection and parts lists; identify and correct process and material defects.
  • Ensure the FAT is filled out completely and correctly.
  • Trouble shoot issues both electronically and mechanically.
  • Point of contact on shift for updates on progress to dept. manager/supervisor.
  • Energize and discharge energy blocks at 1500 volts.
  • Monitor data recorders, collect and analyze data, and change test parameters.

     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Great organizational skills, ability to organize and understand and assist in defining priorities.
  • Ability to perform any task within the department.
  • Ability to train and coach less senior employees.
  • Good communications skills, ability to relay information to necessary parties.
  • Mechanical ability, as demonstrated by the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and bills of materials.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools and measurement devices safely and correctly.
  • Ability to inspect sub-assemblies and assemblies.
  • Ability to judge the quality of sub-assemblies and assemblies produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions.
  • troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues.
  • Understand electrical current (AC & DC) and their conversion
  • Ability to work in environments with both low and high voltage while using all applicable personal protective equipment and adhere to all applicable standards for electrical work and safety as well as all Eos Policy and Standards.
  • Ability to lift at minimum 50lbs and work in environment which may include, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and work at heights with fall protection.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: We are considering all levels of experience from entry-level to level III techs

Entry Level Electrical Technician - Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 year Degree Required:  Course of study: Electronic, electrical, or relevant field - Required  

Electrical Technicians I-III - Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree Required:  Course of study: Electronic, electrical, or relevant field - Required
  • 2 years' experience specifically in electronics or electrical field. Journeyman electrician preferred, but not required.
  • Must have experience working in high-voltage situations.
  • M chanical ability, as demonstrated by the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Arc flash trained - preferred

Hiring multiples on each shift:

  • First Shift - 7am-3pm
  • Second Shift - 3pm-11pm
  • Third Shift - 11pm-7am
