Team Lead - Materials Management - Full Time - Days

Department: MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

Job Summary

The Team Lead Materials Management is a working team member who will coordinate, coach and monitor the work of employees to promote the smooth and efficient operation of a department or area within MVHS. In addition to performing responsibilities as a Buyer, the Team Leader reviews materials order work queues and assigns them to Buyers

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Relays work instructions, distributes assignments and monitors work related to purchasing for quality and completeness.

  • Starts daily schedule on time and follows department checklists and standards including quality, efficiency and delivery of customer service.

  • Monitors staff attendance and time off requests.

  • Trains and orients new and current staff to the department operations and new procedures or tools.

  • Promotes teamwork and customer service throughout the department and assists staff through upcoming and ongoing changes. Serves as a resource and role model for staff within the department.

  • Completes departmental reports and logs.

  • Ensures staff understand and comply with organizational polices, department policies and standards, and regulations. Addresses non-compliance promptly and professionally with the department Manager.

  • Keeps manager updated of any concerns or problems within the department. Collaborates with Manager to problem solve.

  • Actively participates in meetings and in-services and encourages coworker attendance.

  • Is flexible to work a varied schedule to meet departmental needs, including weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

  • Is able to work in all areas within the department as needed.

  • Performs all the duties of a Buyer to ensure maximum cost savings, prompt order processing, timely invoice processing, accurate pricing, and the efficient processing of backorders or rejected items.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Associates degree in Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of experience within the department, procurement, or a related field

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and motivate staff, or prior supervisory experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.
