Work involves preparing and painting the interior and exterior of buildings, equipment, and furnishings. Helps replace broken window glass and damaged sheet rock, and other related duties. Will work weekend rotation schedule as required. Work is performed on the Vernon Campus and may be performed on the Wichita Falls Campus as needed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor III, Assistant Plant Maintenance Manager, and Plant Maintenance Manager.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. This position may also be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on maximum security locations.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Assist in preparing and painting the interior and exterior of buildings, equipment and furnishings.Prepares, paints, stains and varnishes under supervision of painting supervisor for proper use.Assists in performing limited carpenter work such as replacing broken window glass, repairing damaged sheet rock, installing signs and bulletin boards and concrete work.Accounts for personal tool inventory by following departmental procedures to ensure safety of patients and employees.Assists other crafts in construction or repairs of facility.Will work weekend rotation schedule as required with tasks being done in a professional and efficient manner to ensure compliance with instructions and quality standards.Performs other tasks as assigned.Employee actively participates and/or serves in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsMust have the appropriate license (Class C) for the type of vehicle being driven as required by Texas Civil Statutes.Knowledge Skills AbilitiesWorking knowledge in the operation, maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment.Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Skill in the use of tools and equipment in a safe manner.Ability to work with others.
