Position Summary
Caribou Thunder is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team and support a large Department of Defense contract. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting electronic equipment, providing on-call engineering services, and ensuring the readiness of the Joint and Naval Task Force active/passive maritime surveillance capability. This position offers meaningful work and opportunities for travel.

As a Field Service Technician at Caribou Thunder, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, testing, retrofitting hardware and software, and performing troubleshooting for electronic equipment. You will provide on-call engineering services to ensure the readiness of the surveillance capability, comply with guidelines and restrictions, and support routine maintenance and repair activities.
Perform on-call engineering services for maintaining, repairing, installing, testing, retrofitting hardware and software, and troubleshooting electronic equipment.
Comply with guidelines and restrictions specified to ensure the government's readiness posture for operational tasking, routine preventative maintenance, and expedited repair of failed equipment in port.
Travel to Japan for a minimum of 25-35% of the time.
Minimum Requirements
US Navy electronics C school required curriculum must relate to the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of:
VME computers
Digital computers
Microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment
Communications system
Navigation system and/or sonar system
3 years of practical hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors, communications systems, navigation systems, and/or sonar systems.
Active Passport.
Preferred Requirements
5 years of combined experience in the maintenance and repair of Subsystems, COMM subsystems, and/or arrays. Having experience in all three of these areas, rather than one or two, is highly desirable.
