Our Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. We are looking for a seasoned individual to lead our cybersecurity compliance practices across EMEA and APJ. This highly visible position will play a critical role in shaping the security posture of Akamai and in protecting our customers.

This role is at the heart of Akamai's commitment to driving security improvements. It requires a visionary who can enhance our security and compliance capabilities. You will be directly responsible for managing the practices, governance, and company security compliance portfolio across EMEA and APJ.

As a Information Security Director, you will be responsible for:

• Driving programs to further evolve the methodology and practices for managing security controls

• Supporting an end-to-end security compliance audit process focused on improving the security of Akamai systems and products

• Leading others in mitigating Akamai's technology and business risks in ways that contribute to the safety and security of Akamai's systems

• Advising, influencing, and educating the rest of the company on matters of security and compliance

• Facilitating the adoption of changes needed to comply with cybersecurity regulations across the globe

• Influencing senior leaders across the organization to drive realization and mitigation of new and emerging cybersecurity risks

• Advocating for Akamai's mission at security events and customer meetings

• Acting as the CSO Office site lead in Poland, working with the local security leaders and site leadership team

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have demonstrated experience related to cybersecurity, and prior experience overseeing security audits

• Have knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001

• Be able to bring focus and collaborative team work to a collection of highly skilled, highly independent staff

• Understand and work with complex technical systems, their control and measurement, and with describing the risks within those systems

• Exhibit good judgment in both careful, well-thought-out strategic settings and emergency situations, sometimes both at once

• Have demonstrated experience leading a team of technical staff, supporting business goals and functioning as part of a high-performance cross-discipline team

• Be able to communicate clearly, effectively and persuasively verbally and in writing to technical and business audiences

• Have technical knowledge encompassing at least one of internet technologies and fundamental protocols, cloud software development, data security, modern web application security
