Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant based in West Des Moines, Iowa. This role primarily focuses on supporting end-to-end trade processing and data management for a variety of derivative products in the telecom industry. The Sr. Accountant will work with various teams to manage settlements, perform data management functions, review and reconcile trade bookings, oversee third-party providers, and manage legal-document trading agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with Derivative Portfolio Management, Derivative Trading, Legal, Treasury, and Investment Accounting teams.

• Manage settlements associated with derivative trade events, margin requirements, cash management, and collateral.

• Ensure appropriate flow of data into internal trade execution and booking platforms as well as downstream to accounting, reporting, and other stakeholder platforms.

• Review and reconcile trade bookings and legal trade documentation to ensure trades flow correctly.

• Oversee third-party providers, analyze complex issues, and coordinate with them to resolve any arising issues.

• Manage legal-document trading agreements and understand differences among ISDAs, CSAs, MCAs, and associated agreements across different legal entities and trading partners.

• Develop and enhance a culture of prudent risk management within the team and wider organization.

• Gain exposure to cleared and bilateral collateral, futures, portfolio reconciliation, options, FX, Swaps, and the trade events associated with each derivative activity.

• Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Derivative Accounting. Requirements • Proven experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar position

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Strong understanding of General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Derivative Accounting is a plus

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience

• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA, is preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; potentially work weekends or evenings
