Job Details The Telephone Operator acts as primary public contact in performance of computerized telephone operator duties. Responsibilities: Operate computerized telephone console; answer incoming calls; route calls to proper departments as needed Adhere to patient privacy policies at all times Enter changes/updates to shifts and on-call schedules as needed Contact interns and residents for outside calls, units and codes. Announce codes properly, notify fire department, police and appropriate hospital personnel, disaster drill and bomb threat drill. Assists concierge when needed Contacts Hospitalist Physicians for admissions and consults Requirements: Knowledge of MS Office products (word, Outlook); strong communication skills and ability to multi-task. Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations; must be able to operate a telephone answering console (switchboard)\ High School Graduate or equivalent Typing necessary At least one year, computer and console experience preferred. Salary Range USD $21.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
