Expected salary range of $70,200 to $78,000 (Level III) $54,000 to 60,000 (Level II), varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for developing and performing all levels of equipment calibrations, testing, and analysis using recognized methodologies, industry standards, and technical experience. Calibration technicians are responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment to ensure they are calibrated correctly and provide accurate measurements. This position is also responsible for providing technical support, mentoring, and training of Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II technicians.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and perform complex calibrations of measuring & test equipment and/or tests and analysis of plant components, systems, and parts.

  • Produce accurate test reports of calibrations and testing and establishes acceptability of results as required in the Exelon PowerLabs Quality Assurance Manual.

  • Interact with clients and vendors on technical projects and calibrations.

  • Process vendor calibrations and conduct vendor source verifications for testing and calibration.

  • Perform corrective / routine maintenance and/or repair of PowerLabs and customer equipment.

  • Plan, support, and perform customer onsite calibrations and testing that may involve regional travel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Level III

  • Associate degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) military training, or a high school degree with a minimum of six years of chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing

  • Minimum 1 year Experience in equipment calibration and/or testing and analysis

  • Ability to gain unescorted access to Constellation's Nuclear Stations

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience

  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Ability to travel when required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Level II

Associate degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) training (no experience required), or a high school degree plus four years of experience in chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles.

Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.

Ability to gain unescorted Access to Constellation Nuclear plants.

Good oral and written communication skills

Excellent hand-eye coordination

Ability to travel when required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience

  • Metrology or related education via VoTech, military or associate degree in technical area
