Lab Technician - Calibration This role performs a variety of calibration of precise measurement tools and coordination with external vendors. Functions and Responsibilities * Monitors the completion of upcoming calibration processes. * Performs necessary calibrations as requested for standard and non-standard instruments/tools. * Utilizes and maintains calibration equipment. * Record calibration results. * Coordinates and tracks outside calibration services with production schedule. * Detects and evaluates opportunities for improvement and propose solutions for potential or existing problems within scope of job function. * May perform a variety of inspection and calibration of equipment and tools. * Able to document non-conforming tools and disposition per AWI * Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system. * Performs all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures. * May demonstrate basic operations to others. * Requires proficient written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of office procedures, and experience in the operation of office equipment. * Requires familiarity with computers and related software such as Microsoft Office, GageTrak. * Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches. * Experience with tight tolerances and working with precision measuring equipment. * Able to troubleshoot and/or repair defective instruments by adhering to standards. * Able to track and coordinate calibration dates to maintain smooth production. * Able to work with minimal oversight. * Strong attention to detail Working Conditions Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, respirator, and rubber gloves as required. Physical Requirements Performs physical activities that may require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
