Position Overview

*Huber Brothers, LLC *is searching for a full-time, dependable Shop Assistant to join their team! As a Shop Assistant be prepared to work at the Shop site and perform general rebar stacking, loading/unloading, cutting, bending, tying, and clean-up tasks. Some essential job duties include the ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time, lifting, cutting, bending of rebar materials for shipping. You will learn to operate overhead crane, forklift, Telehandler Boom Lift and other power tools to prepare rebar and perform floor/work area clean-up to keep a safe work environment. HS Diploma/GED preferred. Previous rebar handling, placement and/or construction related experience highly preferred.

Min Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends &/or holidays when needed Must pass pre-employment-drug test for this Safety Sensitive Position.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Lift, cut, place, tie and bend rebar materials for shipping.   (Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds)
  • Operate overhead crane, forklift, Telehandler Boom Lift and other power tools to prepare rebar. 
  • Operate table bender, power tools and other equipment as instructed.
  • Perform floor and work area clean-up to keep a safe work environment.    
  • Load and unload rebar from trucks along with checking off load contents. 
  • Clean tools and equipment as needed.
  • Routinely assist other members of the Work Team in different areas of production.
  • All other assigned duties.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Previous rebar handling, placement and/or construction related experience highly preferred.

  • Must pass pre-employment-controlled substance testing for this Safety Sensitive Position.

Benefits

Overtime is calculated after you have completed your eight-hour day.  Saturday is time and a half. Sunday, if necessary, is double time.
