Scope

The Product Service Supervisor role works efficiently through best business strategies and lean concepts. This position is directly responsible for product service employees and ensuring that daily, weekly, monthly objectives, schedules, and performance levels are met, while continuously developing a team-oriented focus. The Product Service Supervisor ensures compliance with all Quality System and FDA / ISO regulations are met in accordance with all Company guidelines. Administers Company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner while emphasizing safety and good housekeeping.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise both direct and indirect employees in manufacturing and production to execute schedule attainment and meet business goals efficiently and safely, including support of staff.

  • Ensure manufacturing practices are consistent with Dentsply Sirona policies and procedures as well as relevant FDA, ISO, EPA and OSHA guidelines and regulations. Ensures full compliance with regulatory, safety and Human Resources programs within manufacturing.

  • Lead department accountability for attainment of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost, People and Engagement goals and objectives.

  • Execute the daily production schedule through the effective utilization of people, material, machines, and processes to meet customer requirements, schedule compliance, and cost objectives.

  • Provide leadership and support to direct reports to discuss progress of work and ensures that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.

  • Review, develop, implement and revise processes and procedures within the manufacturing areas assigned to ensure continuous improvement activities such as implementation of lean principles and management/implementation of Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA).

  • In conjunction with both the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Departments, drive quality investigations for consumer complaint issues, issue escalation, non-conformances, etc.

  • Lead department training efforts both OJT (on the job) and through the LMS (Learning Management System).

  • Manage ongoing training and development of subordinates including written performance appraisals, salary recommendations, rewards and recognition, coaching and counseling, development plans and disciplinary actions as needed.

  • Management of temporary labor work force to include payroll, training, communication, performance management and issue resolution.

  • In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, manage employee relations efforts on the floor including addressing and resolving employee concerns, issue investigation, etc.

  • Collaborate with scheduling department on prioritization, capacity and labor plans.

  • Responsible for timely and accurate management of all payroll activities as related to employees including management of paid time off to standards, bi-weekly payroll submission, etc.

  • Engage Material Coordinator on raw material issues as needed.

  • Active participation in the hiring process including but not limited to selection, interviewing and direct training of new employees. In conjunction with Human Resources and Operations, conduct periodic review as well as short and long-term staffing analysis.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Typical Background

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or related field preferred.

Certifications/Licensing:

  • Professional certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing a plus but not required.

  • First Aid / CPR experience a plus.

Years and Type of Experience :

  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

  • Experience in a regulated industry (FDA, ISO, medical device, etc.) helpful.

  • Mechanical aptitude, machine shop experience or engineering background helpful.

  • Experience with continuous improvement teams, lean manufacturing, etc. preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), e-mail and Internet.

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.

  • Interpersonal skills to include customer-focused orientation with both internal and external customers.

  • Strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Comprehensive organization and analytical skills
